Albert Young was named the New Jersey Offensive Player of the Year in 2002. He was an All-American and All-state football player his senior year at Moorestown High School. He received a full scholarship to play football at the University of Iowa. He is the 3rd player to ever rush for more than 3,000 yards in his career. Albert has many threats that make him a dangerous weapon out of the backfield. His power and agility, combined with his ability to catch the football, was what made him an All-Big Ten player for the Hawkeyes. In 2006 and 2007, he was named to the Leadership Group for the Iowa Hawkeye football team. After college, Albert was signed by the Minnesota Vikings and has worked his way to be the team’s third down featured back. After recovering from two season ending injuries, Albert knows what hard work and determination can do for an athlete willing to give that "Extra Heartbeat" for his team. He brings dedication, hard work, and his love for the game to the academy. Albert is excited to be able to share the things he has learned over the years to every athlete at the camp.
